Air Injection AIO Water Filter

What is the best Air injection AIO Water Filter?

The best air injection filter is the NinjaAir AIO system. The most powerful AIO water filter you can buy! NinjaAir AIO combines the oxidizing power of air injection with the most effective oxidizing mineral in the industry. And it can remove up to 25ppm of iron, or more.

How does an AIO filter work?

An AIO filter injects air into the water. The air immediately starts oxidizing the contaminants in your water, such as iron and sulfur. Then, when the water hits the media bed, the oxidizing media continues the process. This combination of air and mineral turns all of that iron into sediment. Which is then trapped inside the media bed. After this, the collected iron and other sediment is cleaned out during the automatic backwash.

Who should use an AIO water filter?

If you have a lot of iron in your well water you may be a good candidate for this type of system. And if you struggle to keep your pH up over 7.5, this will be the best iron filter for you.

Maintenance-free and chemical-free

Your filter will clean itself out so there is no maintenance.  The mineral in the media bed is completely natural so you don’t have to worry about unwanted chemicals getting into your water.

What to watch out for when buying an AIO water filter

Beware of AIO systems that use Katalox or Katalox Lite. It will do the job for a while. But Katalox is a coated mineral. And that coating will wear off after some time.  That is why you will usually see a decrease in effectiveness over time. And most people using Katalox will need to re-bed their filter every 6-8 years. That is a messy job if you do it yourself! And an expensive job if you call a service technician!

Another thing that you should be cautious about are the AIO systems that have the air injector built into the control valve.  Injecting the air as the water is going into the filter can give some oxidation. However, the best way to introduce air is to place an air injector (sometimes known as a micronizer) into the water line before the pressure tank.  That gives the air more contact time. Which means more oxidation can occur before the water ever even reaches the mineral bed. Making it much more effective at removing iron.
